Theater J and the Second of 8 New Illustrations

In April, I was hired by Theater J, housed at the DC JCC, to create 8 illustrations; one for each play in their 2013-2014.

The second play of the season is The Argument by Alexandra Gersten-Vassilaros:

"This newly commissioned 2013 edition of The Argument chronicles the arc of a relationship with humor, passion, brutality, and up-to-the-minute relevance."
From the co-author of the 2004 Pulitzer Prize-finalist Omnium Gatherum.

Illustrations for Catalyst Theater

Recently I finished up 3 illustrations; to be used on playbills and other promotional material, for Catalyst Theater's 2008-09 season. The three plays are 1984 (adapted from George Orwell's novel) by Chris Gallu, Roundheads and Peakheads by Bertolt Brecht, and Bruise Easy by Dan LeFranc. The dark undertones found in all three plays made it easy to take Catalyst's palette of black, white, and red and apply it to the paintings.
